Jill Denton is a Bay Area artist who has a passion for painting and that’s why she has created a forest of unique colorful curvy trees, each with its own feminine charm. Her palette ranges from vivid, hot reds and yellows to cooling, calm blues and greens and her style has been described as a mixture of figurative and surrealism with a dash of whimsy.
Jill always wanted to paint, but could not draw a stick figure. Then in 2010, a friend said "Enough talk!" and gave her an easel, canvasses, some paint and said "Go paint!" She was so excited but what could she possibly paint? Denton decided on something simple, yet majestic--a tree--and when she completed her first one, she noticed her tree had curves.
She named her first image Esine Eira—and immediately people loved it. This first tree began a very successful art career for Denton. The series is called TreeForm and people throughout the world buy prints and originals from this emerging artist, because they love her trees and how they represent strong, empowered women.
“I hope my art will free your mind, open your heart and take root in your soul,” Denton explained. Each piece is completely different and comes with its own name, from Adorna to Vanessa and with many others in between.
